Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your Marrakech riad or hotel at approximately 8:00 AM. Travel south in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, climbing through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters. The panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and winding mountain roads are simply breathtaking. Stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, where you'll explore the ancient fortified village with its towering kasbah towers and narrow alleyways. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan tagine lunch at a local restaurant with stunning views of the ksar. Today you have two options: continue your journey north to the imperial city of Fes, traveling through the Ziz Valley with its spectacular canyon views and vast palm groves, or return to Marrakech via a different scenic route through the Draa Valley and the town of Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. Both routes offer incredible photo opportunities of Morocco's diverse landscapes, from arid desert to lush green oases. Your driver will drop you off at your Fes riad or back at your Marrakech accommodation in the evening, concluding this extraordinary desert adventure.

The best time for this tour is from March to May and September to November, when temperatures are pleasant for camel trekking and desert camping. Summer months can be extremely hot in the Sahara, while winter offers cooler nights but clear sunny days.
This tour requires a moderate level of fitness. The main physical activity is a 1-1.5 hour camel trek into the desert. Walking through kasbahs and valleys involves uneven terrain. The tour is not suitable for people with serious back problems, but most travelers in reasonable health can enjoy it comfortably.
We recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket for cool desert evenings, a small daypack, camera, personal toiletries, and any medications you may need. A scarf or shawl is useful for protecting against desert sand and sun.
